5 brand damaging habits you should quit

Unknowingly, we are doing many thing that are actually brand damaging and it becomes our habit. Branding plays a crucial role for your business, however, sometimes we make small mistakes that can cause harm to your brand that will reflect on your business. It is better to consult a branding expert before you move forward with any changes, or even when you are thinking of starting your business, consulting a professional who knows what works in branding is wise. And if you have been in business for a while and are looking to change anything about your brand there are many things you must take into consideration.

Brand Damaging Habits

Here are 5 brand damaging habits that you should quit right now before you hurt the business.

Take what you can handle

Usually, people become greedy and they try to take more customers than they can handle, giving them poor service and low quality results. A few customers with quality work would give you more name and reputation vs. jeopardizing what you have already created. Therefore, take a few clients and give them the best quality work rather than just running after more clients.  Do not take on more customers than you can serve. Poor service jeopardizes your reputation in the long run. This is one of the brand damaging habits that every business must quit and choose quality over quantity.

Work without Vision

Oftentimes, we do not set boundaries with our new clients, this could cause higher expectations with the customers. As a business we promise them more than we can provide and the client would also expect a lot of work for the money they have paid. In order to maintain a long term relationship with the client and their business, setting up expectations and boundaries is beneficial for both you and your client.

Being on sale all the time.

A partnership or a business is based on an honest relationship. Getting to know your customers, knowing their likes and dislikes and what they are expecting from the brands could create a healthy relationship. For sales there might be a target to meet and number to get to, however, getting to know your customer can get you more referrals and customers than working hard at all times.

Not having clear goals

At any given time in your brand, you need to know what you are doing, when you are doing it and why it matters.Your brand is your portfolio, understanding colors, fonts and designs and the vibes it gives to your target audience is the most important thing. If you are targeting children but you use bold colors it might not be a right choice. Knowing what appeals to them is very important. Country that you are targeting, race, age and the time of the year also matters. Therefore, setting the right goal is important at the right time.

Explaining your charges

Trying to explain yourself shows you are not confident in your product and asking for a fee. Say how much you charge and be silent. Show confidence in your work and what you are actually trying to sell the client. If you explain yourself to your client, you might tell the what you do not know which will hurt your work.
